Tuna Burgers

I was going through an old recipe box that dated back to my junior high days and found this gem. I learned to make these in 7th grade Home Ec., and they soon became a hit at home. We served these with molded veggie Jell-O salad (Recipe follows), and banana pudding for sweet.
These sandwiches are a snap to prepare and a make for nice light supper or lunch. They're also good for brown bag lunch if a microwave is nearby for reheating. Just nuke for 10 to 15 seconds.

Ingredients

1 (6 1/2 or 7 oz.) can or pouch tuna
1 (4 oz.) c. cubed American cheese
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1 tbsp. chopped onion
4 buttered hamburger buns

Combine first 5 ingredients and fill buns with mixture. Wrap in foil and bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Makes 4 burgers.

Veggie Jell-O Molded Salad

A good accompaniment for tuna burgers. Very easy and tasty.

1 3 oz. box lemon Jell-O
1 C. boiling water
Ice Cubes
1 chopped apple (red delicious or other good red-skinned eating apple)
1 rib chopped celery
1/4 C. chopped walnuts

Rinse individual molds with cold water. Set aside.
Prepare Jell-O with boiling water according to package directions. Use the quick set with ice cubes. Stir ice into gelatin until it's syrupy. Remove any unmelted ice. Stir in all other ingredients. Pour into wet individual molds. Chill until firmly set. Unmold and serve.
