Portrait - Arthur Fiedler

The greater Sacramento area is home to many symphony events - from hometown productions and collegiate presentations to professional productions.

The selection is vast and almost year round.

Samples in this style of music have been provided as well as other information.

The samples and links in this area will exhibit works largely of full or large orchestra sounds, and other files related to this area can be found in the "classical area.

It is commom to think of "symphony"as being a full orchestra although that is not always true.

In any case it was neccessary to split the related areas due to the large volume of available works on the net,

You may find that although these samples are not huge in file size, they are long.

Not all will be long, but two or three will be long enough to continue to play long enough that your WebTV box will disconnect BUT the MIDI will go on to the end.

If this is your first visit, perhaps you might like to give each sample a quick try and move on to the next before deciding which to hear in the complete version.

I like all of these well enough to go through the bother of hitting my keyboard to come back on line and listen to each one.

Personally when I view this page, I start a MIDI and then go about my business around the house while listening and simply restart as needed for longer selections.

Of course if you choose to view the links and surf the world of symphony, none of that will be neccessary.

I encourage viewers to listen to each selection at least one time, and bother or not to restart, the sounds are worth the trouble!

Not every MIDI on every page is full symphony sound , but there are enough on each page to be representative of the style.

Caution is given to watch the file sizes. For listening, perhaps under 100k is easy enough and for transloading from sites that allow the practice, usually under 50k plays well for most uses.

Choose a link at the left to see what is available locally and travel to the symphonys of the WORLD !
