If you have some time, try looking at an area that hasn't been something you normally listen to and you may be surprised at what you hear.

In general I have tried to select MIDI links and samples within each genre that seem to have a universal appeal.

Making this part of the site has been a learning experience for me as well, since I hadn't really realized all the types of music I enjoy.

There is some overlapping of music styles in some catagories, jazz, bigband and swing can be similar in sound with only minor differences in some examples.

Rock, metal, rap and even techno sometimes seem to have somewhat the same influences, and some just don't seem to fit in any catagory.

Music is a display of feeling, emotion and mental images created by those out there that can put all of that into making sounds.

There are some exceptional musical creations that appeal to a wide range of people. yet those types that have a smaller audiance to appreciate a specific genre are no less important.

I encourage you to surf and listen to all of the catagories here - there is a tremendous amount of material contained in these pages and links.

No matter what you try and how far out there you surf, you may always return another time for another experience.

Since this is a favorite catagory of mine, these music pages will likely change and be adapted to what I find in my own "field trips" on the net.

Pairing images to sound is something I also seem to spend a great deal of time on and it is hoped that it has been a success.
